A Glimpse Into My Pregnancy

When I found out I was pregnant, I was very excited! For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a mom. You guys, I peed on THREE tests to make sure I was pregnant haha. Telling my husband was my favorite thing! It was Christmas Eve, and I gave him gift with baby blocks, a ducky washcloth, a small stocking, and the pregnancy test in the stocking. He was so happy! Once the new pregnancy news settled, the morning (ALL DAY) sickness set in. I was so sick that I actually lost about 40 pounds in the first trimester, had to go in a few times to get liquids through an IV, and could not stand to eat anything. The second trimester was a little better. I was still sick all day, every day, BUT I was able to get veggies and ice cream down. That was pretty much my diet for a while. Then I started getting low on iron, and the iron pills made me sick, and all of a sudden I was CRAVING steaks! Mind you, before I got pregnant, I didn’t like steaks, or ever even ate them. By my third trimester I was having to go in for checkups twice every week because of preeclampsia worries. My blood pressure was high and I was taking low dose aspirin so I did NSTs to monitor baby’s heartbeat and my blood pressure. Had to go to L&D a few times, but we got through it. I made it all the way to my induction date (38 weeks). Make sure you watch out for my labor and delivery post!
